Redwashing y pinkwashing::  discursos de "izquierda" en defensa de Israel

Abstract

The defense of the policies of the State of Israel in relation to Palestine achieves a level of adhesion that reaches from sectors more linked to a conservative ideology, to others linked to activism, among them, sectors of the LGBTTTI movement. This article will problematize the defense of the State of Israel among those identified with an ideal of social transformation. The objective here will not be to analyze the speeches of conservative sectors linked to Israel, but to point out how, in the discursive frameworks from a left perspective, there are discursive strategies that give Israel the seal of a democratic country. Two strategies that operate within the scope of activisms will be analyzed: redwashing and pinkwashing. In the first case, attention will be focused on a discursive corpus that uses a left-wing ideology in the defense of the State of Israel. In the second, we will see how elements of the LGBTTTI agenda are activated to qualify Israel as a country free from homophobia / lesbophobia / transphobia, hence the defense of this State as respecting the human rights of this population.
