The Tuareg are a Berber people whose homeland is the desert where they have lived for thousands of years as herders and traders, as well as practicing a nomadism life. The rise of current African states has deeply affected their way of life. This research focuses on those Tuareg who were settled inside Malian borders after independence; and how they have faced the statal neglect, repression and periodic droughts. Rebellions, agreements and finally the terrorism will be the answers to this scenario with a still uncertain end.
