Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Guidelines for submissions

 

1) Indicate affiliation (academic only) and e-mail below the author's name. Don't use a footnote for this.

2) Include title and abstract of around 200 words in English and Spanish. If the article is in Portuguese, French or Italian, it should also include a third title and abstract in that language.

3) Include 5 keywords in English and Spanish. If the article is in Portuguese, French or Italian, you should also include the keywords in that language.

4) Extension of the articles: It it is recommended not to exceed 25 pages with images and bibliography.

5) Do not edit the file excessively: use indentation, spacing, margins, default sheet sizes.

6) Correctly identify sections and subsections using numbers 1, 1.1, 1.2, 2, 2.2, etc. Do not change font sizes and format in titles.

7)  Citations in the body text following this format:

Author Year: Page.

Example: Kemp 1995: 23; Yoffee and Baines 1999: 286.

8) Footnotes: reserve their use for the author's own remarks or to expand bibliographic references on a certain topic; in which case the author's surname and year of publication will be recorded indicated. All extended bibliographic information must be contained in the bibliography at the end of the article.

9) Final bibliography: keep a simple style without italics, small caps or capital letters. Complete the data and follow the punctuation. Don't worry about the format. Indicate the author’s surname and first name.

10) Avoid using the ampersand (&) or “et”.

11) Avoid using the colon in main title.

 

12) Include images in separate files, preferably in .jpg extension, identify them as Fig1, Fig2, etc. and indicate where in the text they should be included.

 

13) Please, send tables as separate Excel files, indicating where in the text it should be placed.
